22m Long-Range Cruiser Under Construction at SeaCat Ships

The Sea Speed Team have been busy at work on their latest design, the 22.3 metre (SeaCat 74’) long-range cruising catamaran, currently under construction at Sea Cat Ships, located at Ocean Marina Yacht Club on the eastern seaboard of Thailand. As well as being a ‘state of the art’ vessel, this high-performance catamaran will be suitable for dual operations such as:

1.Expedition catamaran suited for offshore luxury cruising and charter operations around Australia as well as private cruising around the rest of the world.

2. Day dive boat suited for carrying up to 80 passengers on scuba and snorkeling trips out to the Great Barrier Reef.

Powered by twin Volvo IPS 1050 Drives her expected sprint speed is around 30 Knots, with economical medium cruising speeds of 20-25 Knots. This slightly raked bow (to maximize the waterline length) Sea cat design is a proven hull and high-performance vessel. She is very fuel efficient, cutting though the water with a great sea keeping motion. This version features three levels of comfort: The main deck has three VIP cabins all with un-suites, a lounge/four berth cabin with large galley and a dining area. The aft’ main dive deck has dive bottle storage and davit and tender storage. On the upper deck there are walk around sides with large forward area, featuring a jacuzzi pool which converts to a large day bed and aft’ decks that have a seating area for alfresco dining. The helm position is situated forward with lounge area/two double berths aft of this. The sunroof has an outdoor control station and area for both deck chairs and solar panels.

All internal spaces are fully air-conditioned. The exterior finish is fully faired and painted professionally to give that sleek white boat look.

Large fuel capacity matched with fuel efficient hulls give extended range of over 1500 Nautical Miles.

The vessel is being built in accordance with Australian commercial vessel standards Class 1C (80 divers plus 5 crew) and Class 2B for 12 Passengers plus 4 crew (Overnight) criteria with hull and deckhouse to Lloyds Register SSC standard for offshore operations.

This model can be custom designed to suit a broad range of customer requirements. Sea Cat is looking at diversifying into the Motor Yacht market building aluminium catamarans based on their range of proven hulls up to 42Metres (135 ft).
