The team at SeaCat Ships are proud to announce the sea trials and delivery of our two new 8.8metre Landing Craft Loggerhead and Leatherback.
Loggerhead and Leatherback (named after offshore turtles in the region they will be servicing) are newly designed, safe and cost-effective passenger tour vessels. These aluminium crafts will operate out of Hamilton Island, on the Great Barrier Reef on days trips to White Haven Beach and various other charter operations.
The design of these heavy duty, aluminium plate barge models is approved by the Australian commercial vessel standards, NSCV Class 1D. These are the third and fourth landing crafts of this series, produced by SeaCat Ships and are the latest stylised version, with the capacity to hold 32 passengers, cushion seating, plus two round centre seats, which are easily converted into raised dining tables. The vessels are powered by twin 140 h.p. Suzuki 4 Stroke Outboard engines, giving a fully loaded top speed of 25 knots.
The vessels have now been disassembled to fit into a 40 foot container for shipping. The vessels were both delivered on time and on budget and the owners are extremely happy with their new, high performance crafts.
SeaCat Ships currently have one unit of this vessel under construction with an early delivery available.
