“C-Quest” is a 24 Metre overnight Dive/Cruise Catamaran designed for West Australian and Kimberly Coastal Services. The vessel was launched in February 2009 and is for Suba-Aqua Enterprises, who are replacing their existing monohull vessel with this purpose designed and built craft to suit their specific needs.
The design is from Paul Birgan and based on the very successful 24 metre wide-body dive catamaran design, built for “Calypso Dive” over the past few years. This proven hull is being fitted out with cabins for extended offshore work boats, research and tourist operations. The sleek new deckhouse styling is similar to “Tusa 5” launched in 2007.
The lower level cabin has a large open galley, lounge and saloon area for comfortable indoor living with four twin cabin en-suites and a four crew cabin. The large aft’ lower dive deck features a hydraulic dive platform which houses the 3 man submarine. The hydraulic platform lowers between the hulls to launch and retrieve the submersible and when empty doubles as a lowering feature deck
The upper level has a large wheelhouse with lounges behind for passenger viewing. Behind this are a spacious twin master cabins, complete with en-suites and a three berth crew cabin. The Aft’ upper deckhouses accommodates two tenders and a hydraulic crane.
Powered by twin Detroit S 60 (740 h.p.) diesel engines through Prop/Shaft and Mini-keels, the fuel efficient cruising speed is expected to be over 20 knots at around 80 liters per hour per engine. Other features include Twin 40 kva Zenith generators, fully air-conditioned, 2 x 5000 ltr long range fuel tanks and a Sun Roof.
